Robert Voss is a highly skilled and experienced engineer with a strong background in industrial automation, maintenance, and project management. His technical proficiencies include extensive work with PLCs, Variable Frequency Drives, and Servo Drives. He is adept with HMIs and various software packages.

With a career spanning diverse industries such as Pulp and Paper, Forest Products, Wastewater, Food & Beverage, Heavy Industries, Oil and Gas, and Utilities, Robert has consistently delivered impactful results.

As a Consultant Engineer at Rockwell Automation, he has provided on-site and remote technical support, performed numerous drive startups and replacement upgrades, and managed complex AssetCentre installations. His work has also focused on process optimizations to increase machine throughput and reliability.

Prior to his consulting role, Robert served as a Maintenance Manager at National Gypsum Company. He was a two-time President’s Award Winner (2015 & 2016) and maintained an excellent safety record. He implemented significant improvements in machine logic programming, leading to substantial annual savings, such as $150k from a controlled emergency stop system for a paper machine. Robert introduced Lean techniques, implemented new maintenance management software, and optimized centrifugal pump sizing, resulting in $80k in annual savings.

Robert's experience also includes roles as a Quality Manager with National Gypsum, a Business Improvement General Supervisor at Barrick Ruby Hill Mine, focusing on implementing lean tools. As a Maintenance and Project Manager at Georgia-Pacific Gypsum LLC, he managed maintenance and project operations, significantly improving weekly maintenance schedules and assisting with critical design validations.

Earlier in his career, as a Production and Quality Lab Department Manager and Process/Project Engineer at United States Gypsum Company, Robert designed equipment modifications for increased reliability, automated product changeovers using laser distance measurement, and managed plant-wide Preventative and Predictive Maintenance programs. He also completed structural designs, implemented equipment upgrades, and managed capital requisitions to expand product lines.

Robert holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri – Rolla (Missouri S&T), graduating Magna Cum Laude, and is a Six Sigma Green Belt Certified professional. His comprehensive technical expertise, proven leadership, and dedication to process improvement make him a valuable asset in any engineering or industrial setting.
